Transportation

Regency’s Transportation segment consists of a 450-mile intrastate pipeline and a 500-mile interstate pipeline that receive gas from Regency-owned and third-party gathering systems, processing plants and pipelines for delivery to end-users, local distribution companies and other transmission pipelines.

On March 17, 2009, Regency, along with Alinda Capital Partners and an affiliate of GE Energy Financial Services, announced the completion of the RIGS Haynesville Joint Venture to finance and construct the Haynesville Expansion Project.  Following the closing of the Haynesville Joint Venture in March 2009, Regency's Transportation segment consists exclusively of our 49.99% general partnership interest in the RIGS Haynesville Joint Venture, which is comprised of the Regency Intrastate Gas System, an intrastate pipeline that receives gas from Regency-owned and third-party gathering systems, processing plants and pipelines for delivery to end-users, local distribution companies and other transmission pipelines.  Regency serves as the operator of the joint venture and provides all employees and services for the operation and management of the joint venture's assets.

On May 26, 2010, Regency purchased a 49.9% ownership interest in the Midcontinent Express Pipeline (MEP). MEP moves supply from newly developed areas in Oklahoma and Texas into high-demand Eastern U.S. markets. MEP is owned by Midcontinent Express Pipeline LLC, a joint venture between Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P. and Regency Energy Partners LP, and operated by Kinder Morgan.

RIGS and MEP provide firm and interruptible transportation services in accordance with their terms and conditions of service.
